Pawhuska OK USA - Event News 

The Pawhuska High School non-reunion is set for June 9, 2007 at Williams Park.  Basically, it is from about noon until about suppertime, or either five or six in the afternoon.  If six o’clock is evening for you, then consider it as six in the evening instead.  Basically, again, it is pot luck.  The first person to get there, if it is not I, needs to corral some tables.

This is very informal and it’s all David Meriable’s fault because he said to me, that we should do something to get together and see each other besides a funeral.  Based upon the feedback we received, it had to be before the weekend of June 15, 16, etc. and Saturday because a few wanted to come from a distance and said that they need travel time on Sunday.  We don’t expect everyone as some can’t make it and some won’t.  That’s OK.  David also said that someone should just grab it and go with it.  I did.

We had an entertainment committee meeting and our chairman invested the funds in a lot of liquor, for research he said, and he’s off drunk somewhere.  So, our entertainment fund is $1.98, pretax funds.  I’ve always found success in pot luck like this:  Bring what you want.  It works out because someone will bring chicken, someone else beans, someone else sushi, and so on and it just balances out because people are different.  I will buy some chicken from Charley Wadsworth but I don’t know how much for now.  I’ll probably get enough to feed eight or nine people and I don’t mind sharing.

Some have asked me if I believe Elvis is still alive.  Yes, because he stayed at my house for about six months, and, it is possible that Elvis will be there for the non-reunion.  This is very informal.  If you want a name tag, make one or write your name in big letters on a white T-shirt.  If you see someone you don’t know, introduce yourself.  This is an inclusive invitation so if you went to Pawhuska High School, or once drove by it and you want to come, please do.

Be kind to me also as I am doing the best that I can.  I’ll be wearing Red Boots so I should be easy to recognize.  And, I am not selling anything here or bringing anything to sell because I wanted it to just be a fun meeting for anyone who comes.  This is being copied to the press, i.e. the Journal-Capital, for inclusion, and the gentleman there will be free to edit out the parts that aren’t fit to print in the local paper.
