Mr. Arnold died, Tuesday, April 17, 2007. He was eighty years of age. For many of us, he was our band teacher, for others he was the Pawhuska High School principal, and the Superintendent of schools. Others knew him, in retirement, as a photographer. For my generation, class of 1962 and around that, he was our band teacher. He was a tremendous influence in the lives of most of us and along with music, he taught us about being the best that we could be, about not selling ourselves short. He gave many of us confidence that we did not have when we first met him. He gave us a belief that we could accomplish things, and he believed in us when we did not yet believe in ourselves. He was one of our most respected teachers, but more than that, he was one of our most beloved teachers. He will be missed, but lessons he taught will go on living, through us, and those that we tell about him. He made us The Pride of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, The Pawhuska Marching Band. Funeral services were Friday 4/20/2007, 10:30 AM, First Baptist Church, Pawhuska. McCartney's Johnson. 2007-04-18 08:47:18 by Stephen Payne
