About Pawhuska |
|
Pawhuska Oklahoma USA — a great place to live, love, learn, and grow! Pawhuska is nestled in the heart of Osage County. It is the county seat. It is also home to and capital of The Osage Nation. There are links on our “Related Links” page to the Chamber and to The Osage Nation. Each can help you with information about our city and our cultural heritage. Mapquest can give you directions on how to get here. (Click) To the North of Pawhuska is the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve. There is a good sized herd of bison there. If you visit, stay in your car and look at the bison from a distance. They are not domesticated. Take your telephoto lens for pictures. There are several paths to walk in the preserve and materials are available to explain the native floral and fauna. There’s plenty of good places to eat in Pawhuska, and lots of friendly people to meet. If you haven’t visited, you should. Some people visit then decide to stay. You can never tell what might happen. But one thing’s for certain - if you don’t come by you’ll never know! See you soon. |
