November 1st is the day marked by many in the Christian Church as All Saints Day, or the Solemnity of All Saints.
The celebration of this feast day is often part of a worship service or a mass.
In the United States, All Saints Eve, called Halloween, is celebrated the evening before by taking children to "trick or treat" for candy at local homes.
The day is often associated with orange and black, something our Pawhuska students can strongly identify with.
There is also often other symbols, such as the jack-o'-lantern, associated with this holiday.

If you participate in trick-or-treating, please follow the safety guidelines passed out to the students in our schools.
Please also participate in the celebration on the day our city has declared for trick-or-treating.
If you are driving your children around to pick up candy, please be very careful of other children crossing the road.
Let's have a safe and fun holiday.

p.s. - it was good to hear from Dr. and Mrs Joe M. Johnson currently from Nipomo, California. Some of you may remember Joe. He still remembers Pawhuska.
